Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of placesineverheardof.com and the game and community offered there (the "Service"), operated by Places I Never Heard Of LLC ("we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility (18+)

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using it you represent that you are 18 or older. The Service includes messaging and group features and is not intended for minors.

2. What the Service is — and is not

The Service is an interactive game and creative community in which you explore an illustrative map, design imagined "worlds" on property canvases, and collaborate with others. Imagery, descriptions, and "highest‑and‑best‑use" or productive‑use concepts shown in the game are creative and illustrative — a vision of what a place could be, not a representation of fact.

No real‑estate, investment, financial, or legal advice. Nothing in the Service is an offer to sell or solicitation to buy any property or security, an appraisal, or investment, financial, tax, or legal advice. Any real properties referenced in member‑only "focus" views are provided for information only; you are responsible for your own due diligence and for engaging licensed professionals before any real transaction.

3. Accounts

You register with an email address and password and are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it current. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Membership & billing

• A free account lets you play the current featured property of the week. Membership ($19.99/month) unlocks all properties, saved worlds, group play, and publishing.
• Membership is billed monthly in advance through our payment processor (Stripe) and renews automatically until you cancel.
• You can cancel anytime from your account; cancellation stops future renewals and access continues through the end of the paid period.
• Refund terms are described in the section to be completed below.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the worlds, builds, and other content you create. By creating or publishing content you grant us a non‑exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, display, and operate it as needed to run the Service, and — for content you choose to publish — to show it to other users. You are responsible for the content you create and must have the rights to it.

6. Acceptable use

• Don't break the law, infringe others' rights, or harass, threaten, or abuse other members.
• Don't upload malware, attempt to breach security, scrape, or disrupt the Service.
• Don't misuse messaging or group features, or impersonate others.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, imagery, and branding, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by law. We grant you a limited, revocable, non‑transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose.

8. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited as described in the section to be completed below.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end access for violations of these Terms or to protect the Service and its users.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date, and continued use means you accept them.
